The fact that LAUSD is allowing the possibility of 251 new charter schools is a revolution. It is also a statement that even the union controlled and owned school board understands that unions have killed education in Los Angeles. That is an important statement.
This could be a revolution in education--started by arguably the worst district in the State and nation.
This is a district that has gone from 745,000 enrollment to 630,000. LAUSD has an over 50% drop out rate--with more than 100,000 illegal aliens attending the schools. For a period of time LAUSD was using textbooks from Mexico AND hiring teachers from Mexico.
This is a school district that does not educate for most of the students.
