The San Fran Chronicle is just barely holding on. No one would be surprised if it announced it was closing this afternoon. One of the reasons is that it takes editorial positions that harm the citizens of San Francisco.
Here they are promoting the effort to put 37,000 criminals back on the streets before their sentences are completed. With a 70% recidivism rate, that is a minimum of 26,000 new crimes--if they only commit one.
The Chronicle is more interested in the comfort of the criminals then the safety of the public. Why buy a paper that promotes crime?
The one ducking their responsibility is the Chronicle.
