Here is a novel idea. Since most school districts have large reserves, why not spend the money to keep teachers and programs?
Does it make sense to fire a teacher that you claim is needed, when you have a pot of money?
Note at the very end of the article, the Register admits, like no other paper in the State, that the State deficit is $16.5 billion. When will the legislature be called into session to handle this or are they going to wait till it hits $20-30 billion?
