  • Media Hides NEW State Deficit: $16.5 Billion

I apologize, I have been wrong. Since the signing of the new, new, new budget, I have said the deficit of the State of California is $15 billion. I was wrong.

"California began the 2009-2010 fiscal year, on July 1, with a $11.9 billion cash deficit, which ballooned to $16.5 billion by July 31."

The real cash deficit is $16.5 billion. Do you wonder why the media has not made a big deal of this? Just two weeks ago the Guv signed a new budget. Now, in just two weeks the deficit has gone from $0 to $16.5 billion. Do you think someone lied? Do you think the media was in on it?

When do you think the politicians and the media are going to own up to this massive deficit--which by Labor Day will top $20 billion.

This is why California is in trouble, those in charge refuse to tell the truth.

As of August 1, 2009 the cash deficit of the State was $16.5 billion--what is it today?
