  • Lawsuits are the latest roadblock for California budget

In the world today, after a bill is passed and signed into law, comes the lawsuits. The ultimate power is not our elected officials, it is the courts. Courts run our firefighting efforts, our water, our forests, schools, roads, prisons and police departments.

If you really thought that those we elect run our State, you must be a government school graduate. In the real world, everything gets litigated--including the budget.

That is why even with a revised budget, no one knows for sure how much we will spend or who is in control.

This much we do know, as of today, August 10, 2009, the deficit of the State of California is over $15 billion--by Thanksgiving it could be close to $30 billion. Part of the reason? Lawsuits.

There's so much truth to what this persons says. Our courts have the last and final say on just about everything. Where do our votes come in? Answer: after enough money has been spent to get them. Then they are thrown in the trash by one person in a black robe.
