  • Man Bites Dog: Newspaper Opposed to State Workers Strike

Newspapers have, for years, been supportive of the union stranglehold on government and the private sector. Reality is so strong, looks like common sense and honesty have partially hit editorial boards. Here we have a liberal, Bay Area, newspaper say a strike is wrong. Maybe this is the first step in newspapers understanding that no special interest should control government, other than the people.

"If state workers strike, their jobs could and should be in jeopardy, much as was the case when air traffic controllers violated a no-strike clause in their contracts back in 1981.

California is in a fiscal crisis resulting from a deep recession. Millions of Californians in the private and public sectors are making sacrifices with pay cuts, reduced benefits, furloughs and layoffs."

Common sense from an uncommon place.
