  • California's redevelopment agencies face an uncertain future

Here is a bad choice. In most places in California special interests, big corporations and unions, create redevelopment agencies, then steal the private property of citizens--for the interest of the special folks.
    .
Now the State is going to take $1.7 billion from these agencies to cover its own out of control spending.

So, either the local special interests or the statewide special interests will take this money.

Here is a better idea. End the redevelopment agencies. Stop the thefts, locally and statewide. "Some critics say it's time cities pared down their redevelopment activities and let the property tax money that fuels them go to schools and counties to be spent on direct services. Los Angeles County officials estimate that their general fund loses about $380 million in diverted property taxes because of redevelopment efforts, though proponents said that figure is overstated."

Schools are the losers, families are the losers--only the special interests win with these programs.

Your choice--schools, stopping thefts or government and special interests.
