  • Reality: State's long spending spree halted abruptly

In 15 years the cost of State government in California has gone up 2.5 times. "California's spending boomed in recent years - from $38.9 billion in 1993 to $102.9 billion in 2008"

At the same time the legislature, with the 2/3 rule, has raised taxes, passed AB 32 to kill jobs emotionally, raised fees and caused long delays in projects that create jobs.

The good news is that last year the budget was $102 billion, this year it is $86 billion--but that includes over $20 billion in deficits.

Thanks to reality, Sacramento has been forced to cut-- not enough--that will happen in another month or two--but it is a start.

But, no cuts will be enough as long as we have high taxes and bills and regulations that force investors to go to other States.
