Get real--after putting the State into a deficit of over $100 billion in a five year period, raising taxes by the highest in the history of all States, bad roads, worse schools, all nighters are perfect.
They make lazy, wasteful legislators look like they really, really, care. An all nighter shows commitment--to pas a budget, not the State.
To save electricity and energy, they could have done this during the day. They could have been honest and let the legislators and public time to read what was being past.
All night sessions, not having the bills to read--sounds to me more like a cheap scam than honest government.
