Rent control kills quality ownership of property. With rent control an owner can never get back repair or maintenance costs. That is why rent control areas always become slums.
Now the owners of mobile home parks in San Diego have decided to end their loses and make some money--by selling their lots piece by piece.
The renters are upset. But they forgot it is NOT their property. Thanks to government interference in the first place, these folks will be forced to either buy their space or move. If owners had been able to make a profit on their investment, it might have been different.
Want slums--get the government involved.
