SEIU, those folks who love high taxes and strikes have claimed they are going to strike the State of California--95,000 of them--maybe folks we do not need anyway.
Now, they want to close down the Bay Area Rapid Transit District--BART. Taxpayers have spent billions on the system, and 2500 unions folks can close it down.
Might be a good idea. Government transportation is never reliable, mostly because it is owned and controlled by unions, not the citizens.
BART is going to have a $300 million deficit--guess who pays? You think giving up your car will save money? At some point the unions will make going to work more expensive when it has a monopoly.
Shame on us for allowing this. Gas tax money should go to fix, maintain and build more roads--not bike and horse trails, HOV lanes, buses or trains.
End the union monopoly over BART--start hiring workers, not union monopolists.
