The story here is supposed to be a research grant for stem cell research, but the real story is different. "The Building and Construction Trades Council of Marin County has estimated that 250 construction workers would work on the building project. Rebillot said the institute expects a response on the grant for the research building later this year."
Commercial property is vacant all over the State. No new building is needed, cheap facilities, move in ready are available.
The Stimulus package and the Stem Cell grants are not about research or health care, looks more like another payoff to the special interest and the unions.
More money wasted on unneeded facilities--just to keep the unions happy.
