  • Court Adds $3 Billion to Deficit: NOW AT $30 BILLION

The State of California admits that the budget deficit is $26.3 billion--though it is probably at least $5 billion higher. Last week a court demanded the State NOT cut $500 million from the budget, passed in February, from home care services.

Now, another court has ordered the State to return $3 billion in transportation funds.

In total, the admitted deficit, caused by the legislature and the courts is $29.8 billion--round it off to $30 billion.

It should be noted that several other cuts are in the courts, and could add to the misery.

This does not include the $1.8 billion (or full $8 billion) demanded by a Federal judge to make prisons comfortable.

This is probably why the Guv and Big 5 could not solve the budget riddle--it is bigger today than it was a week ago.

The courts can order all they want. In fact, California is flat broke, no cash, no money--we are giving out IOU's!!

On top of all this our "Failure Factories" are demanding $11 billion more, while LAUSD wastes billions.

Last night the media was all about a budget deal today. Well, forget that. The Senate has gone home till Monday.

The Guv and his friends now have another $3 billion to cut, so a court can be happy.

    Are you happy?

    Get angry or get poor.
