Arnold threatened to fire 5,000 State workers. They are still working for government. Since that did not work as a way to get the Democrats to balance the budget, the Guv is now threatening to fire another 2,000 employees.
Threats mean nothing. The fact that the first 5,000 have not gone, shows the hallowness of the threat to fire 2,000 more. Maybe if he actually fired the workers, someone will listen. But he has been for and against higher taxes, for and against bigger government, for and against more jobs, for and against enforcing the laws against illegal aliens, no one knows for sure if he means this or not.
In the five years he has been governor, almost six, government has grown by 50,000--all hired by Arnold. So, unless he actually fires someone, no one is going to listen.
