This was going to happen. No one really expected a single bribe paying teacher to lose their job because of a lack of money. This is a district that is paying for 131 new schools, while the enrollment has gone down by 115,000 students--and still dropping.
In the private sector folks are getting fired--20% pay cuts are happening. After the major pay increases of the past several years (when the district said it did not have the money) a 5% cut is no big deal. Instead, maybe the union will cut the bribes taken from the teachers, to make the teachers whole!
