Here is a young man (young because he doesn't want to die, now) saying that old folks have an obligation to die. Worse, he wants government policy, not the medical community, to make the decision as to whether you live or die.
This is why the Left is hateful and lacks humanity. To them you are a statistic. This is what Obamacare is about. Remember Barack said he would not give his own grandmother a hip replacement to get her out of pain--he wanted his own grandmother to live in pain.
They are also dumber than dirt. "The roughly 47 million uninsured Americans, and the millions more who are underinsured, mostly do not get to consider whether it is worth the effort to undergo costly, life-prolonging or life-enhancing procedures. It is simply not part of their personal equation.
What happens? They die."
Well, if this guy is right, then why haven't the "47" million without direct insurance died already? To claim if you don't have insurance you will die is idiotic. Statistics show that EVERY person WITH insurance will also die. What is his real point? Oh, first the number is really closer to 10 million, when you eliminate the illegal aliens and those who REFUSE to buy health insurance and can afford it. Then you have to eliminate those who get free care from government and non profits.
This is a serious issue and this writer is talking in riddles and nonsense. The LA Times needs a serious discussion. The author could have written the whole article with one sentence, "Every person who hits 60 years old (and that can be moved lower) must put a bullet to their head while standing next to an open grave."
Today my father has a birthday, he is 90 years old--glad I treat him better that this writer of the article or Barack Obama would.
