LAUSD is, according to them, spending $20 billion to build 131 new schools. This at a time when enrollment has dropped from 745,000 to 630,000. This while LAUSD is holding summer school just for Spanish speaking students in Watts, NOT allowing black children summer school--discrimination. Oh, who ordered the summer summer for Hispanics ONLY? The Hispanic Mayor of Los Angles, the obviously bigoted Phony Tony.
This is just one example of government schools having too much money. It is time to cut, to the bone, money for government schools--maybe then the struggle hold of the unions will loosen. LAUSD pays 25% more than the national average for teachers--while having close to a 60% drop out rate.
Arnold is right, cut public spending on what the US Secretary of Education calls "Failure Factories".
