The Republican Party needs candidates in 2010 that are beyond reproach, folks that are sincere, honest, involved and have not violated State or Federal laws.
But, it looks like the Democrats have determined to promote Carly Fiorina as their candidate for the US Senate against Barbara Boxer--remember Democrats appoint tax cheats to Cabinet posts, bigots to the Supreme Court and other malcontents.
It did not note that she ran a non-profit that is NOT registered with the IRS.
Neither did she register her business with the State of California or the County of Santa Clara--her home county.
The Times also failed to note that Fiorina only voted in five of the last eighteen elections.
These omissions makes it appear to me that Carly Fiorina is the Times GOP candidate. Even so, the Times article was not a glowing report. It opens with her being fired as head of Hewlett-Packard (HP)
"But a Chronicle check of public records shows that Fiorina, a former economic adviser to 2008 GOP presidential candidate John McCain, has never registered her Carly Fiorina Enterprises to conduct business in California, either with the California secretary of state or the clerk of Santa Clara County, where Fiorina lives.
Records also show that her Fiorina Foundation has never registered with the Internal Revenue Service or the state attorney general's charitable trust division, which tax- exempt charities are required to do. The foundation "enables corporations, social entrepreneurs and philanthropists alike to address some of the world's most challenging issues," according to Fiorina's Web site, carlyfiorina.com." You can imagine what the Democrats will do with this information! The GOP needs strong candidates, not those who make themselves easy targets for the media and Democrat attack machine.
What do you think? I await her response to these issues. In fact, happy to publish her explanations.
