While the Mercury News is begging Sacramento to keep the $200 billion rail boondoggle in the budget (that is the true capital cost, including interest, not a dime to operate)--a guarantee that for a generation California will be a basket case, it is time for the poison pill be used on this union/special interest payoff be ended.
At what point do we say NO to the special interests and the unions--the construction firms that donated to pass the High Speed Rail bond and the unions that get the jobs to build the money losing choo choo train?
