The Governor of California, by law, must provide a balanced budget. Like Davis and Arnold before him, Jerry Brown decided to violate the law--by at least $12.5 billion. The actually number is closer to $30 billion--with a total deficit of about $40 billion--as of today.

If a GOP'er is thinking of voting to put the Brown $50 billion tax increase on the ballot, I have six names for them to think about first: Cox, Niello, Adams, Villines, Ashburn and Maldonado.
