Illegal aliens have lots of tax dollars spent on them for English as a Second Language, special classes, teachers and tutors.
Kids with special needs get all the assistance they need, some worth tens of thousands per kid each year.
But, if you are a bright kid you need a private school, not in a government school.

And she loved it.
Her new adventures in learning ended in September, however, when the Evergreen School District eliminated all programs for its 790 or so gifted children. The move was part of a statewide wave of cuts in a program known as Gifted and Talented Education."
In other words the State of California does not want to give the education needed to gifted children. Government prefers the common denominator, illegal aliens and special needs; otherwise a mediocre education is what the State wants you to have. California is in trouble, we don't want the best government education for our children.
