Obama has a great idea, for thieves. If you buy a car from his auto maker, Government Motors, he will give you $7500 from the poor and middle class. Money meant for YOU to pay for food will instead go to the rich to buy a care from him.
Then, instead of the rich paying for the electricity to power the car you bought from Obama's company, the taxpayers will do that.
"Range Anxiety will surely worry male electric car drivers more than Erectile Dysfunction. This is why few people want to buy such a car. The Government thinks it should get even more involved. That’s why many cities are installing free charging stations. Electric car drivers would pay $25.00 and get all the juice they need for six months. Who pays the bill? You guessed it… the taxpayer.
Of course there are several problems with this approach. The biggest problem is that the taxpayer foots the bill so somebody else can drive for free. In Kalfiornia for many years hybrid car drivers could cruise the carpool lanes sans passengers and many people chose to buy such a car just for the sticker."
Then you have a BIGGER problem. Taxes from gas and diesel pay for the roads. Lower gas and diesel sales and you have less money for roads.
"The third problem is that our wonderful roads are paid for by taxing gasoline and diesel. If you get a lot of people driving cars which don’t use gasoline or diesel this will reduce the amount of money available from fuel taxes to pay for the roads we all take for granted. Where will the shortfall come from? The taxpayer. And states won’t be too happy about it, either.
In effect, government is shooting itself and all of its citizens in the foot only the bullet is so tiny at this point nobody will notice.
“I have never seen an industry that receives subsidies for any period of time like this that didn’t fail and then cost taxpayers even more,” said David Littmann, senior economist at the Michigan-based Mackinac Center for Public Policy."
Obama has found yet another way to make State budget deficits even bigger--ObamaCare is not enough, cap and tax is not enough, now he wants to lower money for roads.
