Jerry Brown is trying to stop the corruption of the Redevelopment Agencies (RDA) by ending them. So, before he can steal their slush funds, they are going to spend every dime they can.
"San Marcos sold $45 million in affordable housing bonds Monday; although the city manager points out that they did not sell the bonds in a panic after Brown’s proposal. Paul Malone told the North County Times that the city had been waiting for lower interest rates, but that in the wake of Brown’s proposal decided that selling the bonds at the current rate was better than losing the money to the state.
The City of Vista made an agreement with its redevelopment agency to set aside $45 million to complete infrastructure projects and buy properties in its main redevelopment area.
In Los Angles, the City Council allocated $52 million in redevelopment funds for a downtown art museum on Wednesday."
Oh, the $52 million in Los Angeles was NOT spent for a downtown art museum; it was spent to build a parking structure near the museum--a project financed by a billionaire. So LA gave a billionaire $52 million in tax dollars--this is why RDA's need to be closed down. They are used as the private bank--with NO repayment expected--by special interests and billionaires.
