Some good news in San Diego--plus some bad news for San Diego homeowners.
"A November report on city income trends projected a $13.1 million increase in sales taxes over the course of the fiscal year, compared to a decline of $5.4 million in property taxes."
Though the value of homes decline, hence the property tax revenue reduction, people had real money to buy new items.
Still, in the next few months San Diego local government will fire a few thousand employees, more businesses and jobs will leave, and San Diego will be stuck in the California Depression.
But, at least government now has $7.7 million more to waste.
