    1. Obama's Entrepreneur Problem, by Douglas Schoen, Daily Beast, 1/23/11

Barack Obama is pretending the Jeffrey Immelt, head of General Electric, a corporation that depends on government to survive is a real businessman. He also pretends that his new chief of staff, William Daily, a former head of a bank owned by a union and an official of a Wall Street firm that failed, but bailed out by government, is also a real business person.

    Both are Corporate Welfare Queens.

"But, how did Immelt and his team accomplish that? By large measure, jobs— specifically, eliminating them in this country. Since 2001, GE has shed at least 25,000 jobs domestically— and created an equal number or more overseas— while shuttering 29 plants in the U.S. over the last couple of years. It's also worth noting that GE's financial arm received a multi-billion-dollar liquidity injection from the Federal Reserve during the 2008 financial meltdown."

    2. School Obama cited as success benefited from ditching teachers’ union rules, By Jonathan Strong - The Daily Caller, 01/25/2011

Thanks to President Obama, contrary to want he wants, proved that schools that buck the unions are the success stories.
“Three years ago, it was rated one of the worst schools in Colorado; located on turf between two rival gangs. But last May, 97% of the seniors received their diploma. Most will be the first in their family to go to college. And after the first year of the school’s transformation, the principal who made it possible wiped away tears when a student said ‘Thank you, Mrs. Waters, for showing… that we are smart and we can make it.’” Obama said, according to his prepared remarks.
Notably, a key factor in the school’s success was a move to ditch the rules of teachers’ unions.
In 2008, the teachers there voted to reject unionization. Prior to that, the school had formed a “autonomy” agreement freeing it from local red tape and union rules"
Obama knows what we know--want successful schools, get rid of outside special interests running government schools.
    3. CSU Gets Grant For Bomb-Detecting Vegetation, CBS Denver, 1/26/11

Now your tax dollars are going to grow "bomb detecting VEGETATION. Plants that sniff! No more pooping dogs, we will have special plants doing the job of a dog and a human.
" Colorado State University has received and $8 million grant from the Department of Defense. They’ll use the money in hopes of growing plants to detect explosives in shopping malls or airports.
Researchers at CSU say they’re finding that plants are at least as good, maybe better, than dogs at sniffing out things like explosives and dangerous chemical weapons. Landscaping plants, for example, can look really nice, but also be programmed to change color when there’s danger in the air."
No more dog poop, no more dog food, no more costly veterinarians, now a specially trained TSA official can feel up a plant instead of a nun!!
    4. Why does MSNBC tolerate Chris Matthews’s misogyny?, Amy Siskind, Daily Caller, 1/27/11

Why does Chris Matthews hate women who believe in family, religion and freedom?
Why does Chris Matthews believe women should be pregnant, cooking and commies?
"On the eve of the SOTU, Chris Matthews was back on familiar ground: demeaning women in power. Matthews’s latest target: Representative Michele Bachmann. In fact, Matthews got so wound up in his misogyny that he lost his composure and control. He referred to Representative Bachmann as a “balloon head” three times; referred to her as “this woman” five times (foregoing the proper salutation of Congresswoman or Representative), and just for good measure, used an alleged quote from Stephen Schmidt: “She doesn’t know anything.”
That’s in a span of three minutes. Honestly, how is this women-hatred tolerated by MSNBC without rebuke?"
    5. Housing Agency Spent Thousands of Dollars on Belly Dancers, Luxury Bags, Lavish Spending at Philadelphia Housing Authority Raises Oversight Concerns, By AVNI PATEL, BRIAN ROSS and JOHN SOLOMON, ABC NEWS and CENTER FOR PUBLIC INTEGRITY, 1/27/11

Government is incompetent, corrupt or both. Philadelphia, the land of "Republicans Need Not Apply" is a great example--if you look closely I bet your town is just as bad.
"The nation's fourth-largest housing authority spent lavishly on gifts for managers and a party with belly dancers, and its executive secretly spent more than $500,000 in housing authority funds to settle sexual harassment claims, but it allegedly ignored complaints of unsanitary conditions that nearly killed a 12-year-old resident."
As President Reagan would say, "Government is not the solution, it is the problem."
