I love the Democrats. When their spending is out of control, deficits soar, debt grows threaten to close down government and refuse to pay the bills.
If a private firm did this, the leaders would go to jail for fraud. In government, they get re-elected.
"State Treasurer Bill Lockyer warned Saturday that California could face the unwelcome prospect of issuing IOUs in April or May if legislators and Gov. Jerry Brown do not act quickly to solve the state's fiscal problems."
Lockyer and State Controller Chiang threatened this last Spring--just a threat to raise taxes--never happened.
Here is an idea--if you already know you won't be able to pay your bills in a few months--do like the private sector does--fire people, cut back, cut pay, sell off assets, stop the threats, acting like little children.
