Now, one government agency wants to buy an asset of another government agency. The High Speed Rail folks want to buy LA's Union Station.
"The specific use of the funds is still being determined. However, officials indicate that some of the money may be used to buy the Los Angeles Union Station property – the region’s primary transportation hub, where three high-speed rail segments will converge.
A Union Station revamp would improve operations and service for Metro light rail, Amtrak, Metrolink and the Metro bus system, the authority says."
