    1. Administration Prepares to Defy Efforts to Limit Obama’s Options for Guantanamo, by Dafna Linzer, ProPublica, 1/3/11

If you break the law, you go to jail. Obama can break the law by issuing a statement that he is not bond by any law. Just that simple.

The Guantanamo provisions, which include limits on where and how prisoners can be tried, were attached to a spending bill for military pay and benefits approved by Congress late last year. Some Administration officials are recommending that President Obama sign the spending bill and then issue a “signing statement” challenging at least some of the Guantanamo provisions as intrusions on his constitutional authority. Others have recommended that he express opposition to the Guantanamo sections without addressing their constitutionality.

The statement, officials said, would likely be released along with a new executive order that outlined review procedures for some -- but not all -- of the 174 Guantanamo prisoners still held without charge or trial.

Obama has used signing statements in the past, but this one would carry political significance as the first test of his relationship with a Congress in which the House is firmly in Republican control."

Who says Barack Obama is not acting like Hugo Chavez, a totalitarian?

    2. Medicaid cost crisis looms for Bay State,Budget is pushed to brink as more enroll in program, By Michael Levenson, Boston.com 1/3/11

One item--the Massachusetts version of ObamaCare, is throwing that State into bankruptcy and economic disaster.
"Governor Deval Patrick approved a record $9.6 billion last July for the state’s health insurance program for the poor — sufficient, he assumed, to last a year. But the program’s costs quickly outpaced expectations, forcing the governor to approve an additional $329 million in October and then seek $258 million more, which lawmakers approved last week.
And even that may not last, with six months remaining in the budget year."
Imagine what BO Care will cost--in both dollars and lost lives. Rationing is coming--exercise, eat healthy and get very rich so you can get quality health care on the black market--otherwise, write your will, pick where you are going to be buried and say your goodbye's.
    3. Obama ready to deploy executive powers against GOP Hill, By: Julie Mason, Washington Examiner, 01/03/11

It does not matter to President Obama if Congress votes NO on any of his agenda. He will issue Executive Orders and make law what our representatives voted No on.
This is what his friends Castro and Chavez do--they are a law to themselves--why vote for Congress if a totalitarian will just create a law by fiat?
"In response, Obama is expected to make more frequent use of executive orders, vetoes, signing statements and policy initiatives that originate within the federal agencies to maneuver around congressional Republicans who are threatening to derail initiatives he has already put in place, including health care reforms, and to launch serial investigations into his administration's spending.
"There is going to be an effort on the president's part to use [executive powers] to satisfy his base and institutionalize what he can," said John Kenneth White, professor of politics at the Catholic University of America.
This week, the Environmental Protection Agency begins regulating greenhouse gas emissions at some energy plants and factories -- a move Obama pushed for after his cap-and-trade environmental legislation stalled in Congress."
Barack is your run of the mill corrupt Chicago politician--what else did you expect, honesty?

    4. Is the Constitution Senile?, David Limbaugh, Townhall.com, 1/3/11

We know the left does not believe in the rule of Law--or any law. Ezra Klein is a whiny young kid who writes for Newsweek (for those that do not remember, Newsweek is a leftist journal that is quoted by the mainstream media to prove their own bias is mainstream--few read Newsweek--it is just quoted--oh, it is owned by the 93 year old husband of a liberal Congresswoman, Jane Harmen.)

"Blogger Ezra Klein of The Washington Post told MSNBC's Norah O'Donnell that the constitutional reading is "a gimmick," and "the issue of the Constitution is not that people don't read the text and think they're following; the issue with the Constitution is that the text is confusing because it was written more than 100 years ago and what people believe it says differs from person to person and differs depending on what they want to get done."

I know exactly what Klein means--totalitarianism can not exist where laws exist--kill the laws and you have Castro, Chavez and Obama.

    5. Study: Electric Cars Not Commercially Viable Without Federal Subsidies, Posted by Jeff Dunetz, Yid with a Lid at 1/04/2011

Government is both incompetent and corrupt. Electric vehicles are a waste of money, if you had to pay for them yourself. But, the rich have the poor to pay taxes, to subsidize their lifestyle and guilt.

"Much of the electric and hybrid car business is in the US are subsidized by the US Govt. In 2010, one fourth of GM and Ford’s hybrids were purchased by the federal government. Nissan got a $1.4 billion dollar loan from the feds to develop their electric car, the Leaf. Several thousands of dollars in tax credits per car have to be shelled out to make these models attractive for sale.

The Marshall Policy Institute has released a new study (embedded below) weighing the costs and benefits of the U.S. government’s subsidization of the electric car. It exposes the fact that the government is inefficiently creating demand where little exists, using tax dollars to push a technology into the market results in a misallocation of resources just like cash for clunkers did. This unsound policy makes it more difficult to reduce the federal deficit, is not sound energy policy and it fails to substantially address the environmental issues at which it is aimed."

Why should taxpayers who are losing their jobs and homes, have kids held hostage in failed government schools pay taxes so the rich can have a subsidized care--this is how totalitarian nations act--just like the Democrats.
