  • 2011: Year of the Big Prison (legally) Escape?

This is the year of the big prison break. Jerry Brown will be allowed as governor to release as many criminals he wants, and point to court orders "forcing" him to do this.

The good news is that we still have the Second Amendment. Remember, when seconds count, the cops are minutes away.

"With an estimated $28 billion budget shortfall, the legal and law enforcement communities will endure further spending cuts.

Then there are the long-nagging questions that, with a new (or refurbished?) governor taking office, might finally get answers. For one, does California send too many people to its overwhelmed prisons because too many crimes are deemed serious felonies? Does state sentencing policy undercut efforts at rehabilitation? And what about this miserable recidivism rate?"

Between court orders and the Arnold deficit, who can blame Brown for giving early release for vicious criminals? How about starting with the victims of these release’s?
