LA Mayor Phony Tony said that crime and murders would not decrease unless he had more than 10,000 cops--he never got them.
"Despite expert predictions that violent crimes would rise during these years of economic frustration, the fact is that L.A. may end 2010 with fewer than 300 homicides, according to an L.A. Times article. The homicide rate has dropped over 30 percent since 2007, and 75 percent since 1992. Furthermore, the total number of killings is approximately equal to the number recorded in 1967, when the population was about 30 percent smaller than it is today."
So, 30% more people, yet the same number of murders as in 1967--that is a good record!
