  • Even "Green" Companies are Leaving California

How bad is the economic climate in California when even "green" companies are leaving the State?

"Nordic makes a two-bladed, 1 megawatt wind turbine that it markets to small communities. So far, five Nordic turbines are installed with 3 in Uruguay and 2 in Indiana, with a sixth on its way in Arizona. The company won a $16 million federal loan guarantee to validate its technology.

After founder and UC Berkeley grad Steve Taber relinquished the CEO spot to Tom Carbone in 2008, there wasn't a compelling reason for Nordic to stay in Berkeley. I imagine that by moving, the company will be closer to its Midwest customers and can enjoy a cheaper cost of living and likely more lucrative business incentives."

The turbines are actually made in Idaho, a State that does not force workers to pay bribes to unions. Idaho has low taxes and a government that believes in the people and the Rule of Law. Missouri is going to host the headquarters, executives, engineers, non union workers.

California as Hugh Hewitt says is committing suicide--you can read it about every day in the California Political News and Views.
