  • SF's Official Unemployment Rate 9.6%--Real is closer to 20%

San Fran has a real unemployment/underemployment rate of 20%. Sadly, the media refuses to tell the full truth.

"In the nine-county Bay Area, unemployment was highest in Solano County at 12.1 percent, and lowest in Marin County at 8.2 percent.

San Francisco's jobless rate was 9.6 percent; Alameda County's was 11.3 percent; and Santa Clara County's was 10.8 percent.

"While far too many Californians remain out of work, I am encouraged by some of the positive signs we are seeing in our economy," Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said in a statement."

Even as the lamest of ducks, Arnold refuses to tell the truth. His AB 32 is killing jobs, his taxes are stealing food from families, his demanding illegal aliens be given the best of everything and his being a friend of unions, has destroyed a fragile economy he received from the disgraced Gray Davis.

San Fran under the "leadership" of Gavin Newsom has raised the cost of businesses by mandating universal health care program, high taxes, the threat of forcing people to pay $6 for each car coming into The City, its love of illegal aliens, on top of Arnolds, and you see why San Fran (a city with over $400 million in deficits and over $9 billion in unfunded pension liabilities) is a dying city.
Add the underemployed, those who stopped looking and those who have been dropped from the unemployment rolls since they have been unemployed for more than 99 weeks—you have a real unemployment of 20% or more.
