  • Nearly $7.5 Million OK?d to train California workers--with tax $$$

This is a great deal!!! A company wants to hire new employees--that is good. They need to be trained--that is understandable.

The best part? Taxpayers will pay for the training!! Can you spell special interest? The poor of Hoboken get to pay for winery employees in Paso Robles! Such a deal.

"The California Labor and Workforce Development Agency’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) has approved nearly $7.5 million in job training projects to upgrade the skills of California workers in industries that include green/clean manufacturing and technology, biosciences, healthcare and other key sectors.

A total of 38 projects were approved for funding, most in Southern California or the Bay Area.

“Over 14,000 California workers will benefit directly…,” says ETP Executive Director Brian McMahon. I am particularly pleased that ETP’s training investment helps fund training for current workers, as well as for unemployed workers, giving them the ability to re-enter the workforce.”

One of the companies getting your money is Waste Management. "514 trainees: Waste Management Inc. proposes to train workers for its new Construction and Demolition Processing and Recycling Center in El Cajon; the world’s largest landfill gas to liquefied natural gas plant located at the Altamont Landfill near Livermore; and natural gas fleet conversion, involving hundreds of the company’s vehicles, from diesel fuel to clean-burning natural gas."

What is NOT said is that Waste Management just got fined for corruption, hundreds of thousands in fines--yet your tax dollars are still going to this firm with hundreds of millions in fines from their operations all over the nation.

Makes me proud of government! (Tongue in cheek)
