PLEASE PASS THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS--LET THEM KNOW MORE ABOUT POLITICS AND PUBLIC POLICY THE FORMER MAINSTREAM MEDIA WON'T TELL. THANKS

    1. The GOP's New Abortion Agenda, Mother Jones, Nick Baumann, 12/02/10

"Republicans want to make bans on federal funding of abortion permanent. They want to defund Planned Parenthood. And they'll probably have Dem help." Sounds like the GOP wants to return government to legitimate expenses.

Is the killing of babies the proper use of tax dollars? If PP wants to run abortion clinics, and they are legal, they let the Hollywood Left, Soros, the Clintons, Obama's and private folks pay for this.

"The tip of the spear when it comes to GOP efforts advance anti-abortion legislation is the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (HR 5939), which was introduced by Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) and already has 185 cosponsors. The bill's goals were highlighted in the GOP's "Pledge to America," and future Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) has repeatedly emphasized his continued commitment to anti-abortion legislation. After Republicans won control of the House, LifeNews, an anti-abortion rights website, trumpeted Boehner's promise that he "won't compromise" on key issues like abortion legislation."

    2. Despite strong opposition, ethanol subsidies set to be renewed in tax deal, By Amanda Carey - The Daily Caller, 12/09/2010

"Even Al Gore admits ethanol is a waste of money--that is dies nothing for the climate. yet, the special interests in Congress continue to demand even more tax dollars for this effort to raise the cost of food.
    In 1978, the Energy

Tax Act was signed into law, and with it, government subsidies for corn ethanol. The ethanol industry existed for years on government handouts and in 2005 Congress renewed their commitment by meeting that subsidy (again) and raising it one more: a mandate that requires the annual consumption of 7.5 billion gallons of ethanol by 2012.
On Wednesday, Chuck Grassley, a Republican senator from Iowa, said in no uncertain terms that the new tax deal will include an extension of those ethanol subsidies. Grassley, who is a ranking member on the Senate Finance Committee, made the announcement despite the fact that there is strong opposition to the subsidies from Democrats, Republicans, environmentalists, and trade groups."
It is sad to see a Republican demanding a waste of your tax dollars.

    3. States to try outsourcing economic development, By Melissa Maynard, Stateline, 12/09/10

States are beginning to recognize they are a waste of money.

"The normally low-profile Ohio Development Department suddenly found itself at the center of gubernatorial politics this summer — and its very existence at risk — when Republican candidate John Kasich declared, “The days of trying to connect to business leaders through bureaucrats are over.” His campaign unveiled a sweeping proposal to privatize the agency’s core responsibility of attracting and retaining businesses.

Kasich argued that the department had largely failed at its core mission, pointing to an exodus of prominent employers as evidence. “We know all too well the story of NCR in Dayton, in which the Department of Development simply missed the warning signs and failed to act aggressively to keep the city’s last Fortune 500 Company,” said Kasich’s running mate, Mary Taylor. NCR moved to the suburbs of Atlanta."
Looks like another area of government that can be cut! it is a waste, incompetent and many times corrupt--this is a job for the Chamber of Commerce, not government.
    4. FDA Set To Cut Off 17,000 Women Annually From Lifesaving Drug, Warner Todd Huston, Publius Forum, 12/08/10
We now know how many women, not his wife or daughters, Barack Obama wants to die, immediately. That number is 17,000--the number of women he is taking drugs from that keep them alive.
"Obama’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is due to take up the case of Avastin, a cancer drug that successfully treats some 17,000 women annually. With a coming December 17 decision, the FDA seems poised to take this drug away from these patients quite despite the fact that their doctors find the drug effective"
I do not understand why any women would vote for this killer. Elizabeth Edwards just died of breast cancer--the President wants to make sure that 17,000 more women die of this disease. Shame on us for allowing this.
    5. Feds Target School Bake Sales, Keeping our schools safe from empty calories and delicious treats., by Dan Miller, Pajamas Media, 12/09/10
The government is smarter than you are. Who says that school are run by parents and the local community--Washington runs every aspect of our schools--even bake sales!
"On December 3, the lame-duck House passed the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act, previously approved by the Senate. President Obama, doubtless preoccupied with such trivia as taxes, unemployment, Korea, and China, has yet to sign it into law. A mere two hundred and twenty pages long, it has lots of provisions for allocation of funds, demonstration projects, and the like. Many may be worthwhile.
However, included in the legislation is a provision authorizing the secretary of Agriculture to regulate school fundraising bake sales to ensure that they are infrequent and that the goodies sold are nutritionally acceptable. Far from innocuous, that is yet another distasteful and unnecessary intrusion of the federal government into our daily lives."
