POLITICS AND PUBLIC POLICY THE FORMER MAINSTREAM MEDIA WON'T TELL. THANKS
1. Government Wasted $3.2 Million on Misleading Andy Griffith Obamacare Ads, Yid With a Lid, 12/01/`10
The Feds have plenty of money. Proof? it spent $3.2 million on an ad filled with lies about Medicare. They forget to mention that you can't have the doctor of your choice, since doctors are refusing to provide Medicare services faster than Wikileaks releases government secrets on the Internet.
“Would the sheriff of Mayberry mislead you about Medicare? Alas, yes. In a new TV spot from the Obama administration, actor Andy Griffith, famous for his 1960s portrayal of the top law enforcement official in the fictional town of Mayberry, N.C., touts benefits of the new health care law. Griffith tells his fellow senior citizens, ‘like always, we’ll have our guaranteed [Medicare] benefits.’ But the truth is that the new [ObamaCare] law is guaranteed to result in benefit cuts for one class of Medicare beneficiaries — those in private Medicare Advantage plans.”
Was this the best use of our tax dollars? Probably not, but getting a television icon to lie about the ObamaCare bill is a master stroke of propaganda.
“Taxpayers don’t want their money wasted on propaganda for ObamaCare. And it is a scandal that an Obama insider is involved in the contract for these misleading ads,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “Taxpayers and Congress should be upset the Obama administration wastes millions of taxpayer dollars on this propaganda campaign at a time when the government desperately needs to tighten its belt. Even Barney Fife would see that these ObamaCare ads are bogus.”
2. Chevy saves the planet for $4 per car?, Daily Caller, 12/02/10
How does government waste your money and destroy private businesses? "Carbon offsets" are a fraud---started by Al Gore to make money, selling something that does not exist. Others would go to jail; Gore gets millions and awards for his fraud.
"General Motors has apparently had an epiphany. GM now “realizes” that it “shares the planet with everyone” and wants “to do more to help keep it clean.” So GM has pledged to buy carbon offsets representing one year’s worth of greenhouse gas emissions

from the 1.9 million Chevys projected to be sold during 2011.
Under the Chevy Carbon Reduction program, GM will spend up to $40 million over five years offsetting about 8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide.
There is much less here than meets the eye.
First, while GM describes the program’s cost as “substantial,” it’s really not. GM expects to sell about 10 million Chevys over the next five years — so the actual expenditure works out to about $4 per car. That triviality will be matched by the program’s environmental impact."
3. WACHOVIA BANS CHRISTMAS TREES, by Todd Starnes, Fox News, 12/03/10
Chase Bank has banned Christmas trees in some Florida branches. Wachovia just thinks it is "bigoted" to display a Christmas tree at its branches. Funny both banks will be closed on December 25--the executives who made these decisions should be forced to work on December 25--as a penalty for being bigots.
"Wachovia spokesperson Christina Kolbjornsen confirmed to Fox 13 that they do not allow Christmas trees in their branches. As an alternative, the banks are allowed to put up a poinsettia.
“We respect the diversity of our customers and our team members and we’re decorating our stores with poinsettia plants so everyone can be included,” Kolbjornsen told Fox. “We recognize and understand that people celebrate the holiday season differently and we love to embrace diversity.”
4. Government Electric and its secret bailout, By: Timothy P. Carney, Washington Examiner, 12/03/10
NBC is owned by General Electric. it has been a 24/7 lobbying media for Obama, deficits, higher taxes and bad policies. Now we know why--the Feds "bought" GE for $16billion in bailouts.
"No company is more cozy with government, in my opinion, than General Electric. GE spends more on lobbying than any other corporation. So many of its businesses thrive on -- or even depend on -- Big Government: defense systems, embryonic stem-cells, smart meters, greenhouse gas offsets, wind mills, electric car components, high-tech batteries, health-care products, and more.
GE was a huge stimulus booster and benefactor. It's no surprise, then, to learn from the Federal Reserve's congressionally mandated audit that GE received $16.1 billion in aid from the Fed in the panic of 2008."
Corruption is the middle name of General Electric. Any wonder our policies are bad--they are based on unions and corrupt corporations.
5. The Nanny State Pushes Back-Up Cameras, Capitol Commentary, 12/05/10
Government, especially Democrats, Obama, Arnold, believe you are too stupid to live. Plus, while they believe a woman should be allowed to have an abortion--since it is her body--the money you earn and the way you want to live, other than killing babies, should be up to government. Here is the newest feel good waste of money from the Feds:
"In 2009, there were 249 million cars in America. According to a new report, 292 people per year die from being backed over by a car. I’d take those odds.
But we can’t leave it to the good judgment of drivers to walk around their car before backing out to ensure they don’t hit anybody.
This would require a degree of personal responsibility.
The cost to require back-up cameras in all new cars? $1.9 to $2.7 billion per year. According to the report, deaths would fall from 292 people to 146 per year.
Seems like an awful lot of money to save 146 lives per year, doesn’t it?"
Oh, the Feds are still exploring how to stop cell phones from being used in cars!
