The Truckee Police Department is investigating the death of a 77-year-old woman who was found in her home, Truckee Police said.
On Thursday, Truckee police and fire units arrived at the home of Beverly Beatrice Williams in the 12000 block of Bavarian Way after receiving a call from a family member, police said. The caller told police that Williams had apparently died of a heart attack, the release said.
A forensics team from the California Department of Justice, as well as additional investigators from the FBI, were called out after Truckee Police began to suspect foul play, the release said.
So far, a suspect has not been identified, nor has a cause of death been released. Police are saying that their investigation has turned up no cause for residents to panic.
