St. Mel School in Fair Oaks, the center of the local H1N1 flu outbreak with several confirmed diagnosis, will reopen on Tuesday.
The school has been closed since April 26 by Sacramento County public health and church officials.
A diocesan spokesman said that the Catholic school received county Health Department approval to re-open after the state dropped its recommendation that schools remain closed for two weeks after a confirmed case of H1N1 flu.
In a letter to parents posted on the school Web site, St. Mel Principal Janet Nagel said she hoped to see students bright and early Tuesday morning.
"We are extremely grateful for the assistance and cooperation we have received from the county health director, Dr. Glennah Trochet, and for the outpouring of prayers and good wishes we have received for the well-being of our students, families and teachers at St. Mel School," Nagel wrote.
