El Dorado County health official have determined that an elementary school will close through at least Friday after two more cases cases of H1N1 flu were identified.
The confirmation today of two more cases at Camino School in Camino brings the number of probable cases in the county to three.
"We are directing the closure of the school as a precaution and as a way of preventing any further spread of this flu virus into the community," said Dr. Dean Kelaita, El Dorado County Interim Health Officer. "So far, this strain of swine flu appears to have very similar characteristics to seasonal flu, but we are being very cautious because it is a new strain in our community."
County health officials are asking Camino students to help stop the spread of infection by staying home as much as possible. The first student identified as a probable case of swine flu was a 9-year-old girl who attends Camino School.
