The Sacramento Business Journal said today it has laid off an undisclosed number of employees.
The staff reduction comes two weeks after the weekly's parent company, American City Business Journals, ordered companywide 5 percent pay cuts.
Confirming the layoffs in a written statement, Journal Publisher Joanna Wessman said, "These are challenging times for the Business Journal and for every business that we serve. The Business Journal is solidly profitable and will remain so."
Wessman declined additional comment.
