Sacramento County health officials today reported a fifth probable case of swine flu involving a physician who lives in the county but works in neighboring Placer County.
Officials, who said they learned of the case Wednesday night, declined to provide details.
"There is really no public health issue, and there is no reason to divulge anything more at this point," Glennah Trochet, Sacramento County public health officer, said when reporters pressed her for details.
Trochet said the physician, whose age and sex were not revealed, began exhibiting flu-like symptoms 10 days ago but has fully recovered.
Health officials said they are trying to learn more about the case, and authorities are investigating.
So far, Sacramento County has one confirmed case and four probable cases of swine flu. The probable cases have been sent to the state laboratory in Richmond for confirmation.
