El Dorado Hills residents will have an opportunity to sell or dispose of unwanted items Saturday during the Spring Community Cleanup Day and Garage Sale.
Sponsored by the El Dorado Hills Community Services District, Cleanup Day activities are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at VPD, 4250 W. Town Center Blvd. The community garage sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon in the Community Park parking lot, 1021 Harvard Way.
Residents can dispose of large or bulky items, e-waste, green waste, or other items at the disposal site across Town Center Boulevard from the Blue Shield building. They will be directed to specific areas for e-waste, gently used items, green waste, junk, metal and mixed recyclables.
Pride Industries also will collect paper to shred off site for a charge of $5 per box.
Household hazardous waste, including batteries, fluorescent bulbs, pesticides, paints and photo processing chemicals will be collected at the Bass Lake Road Fire Station from 9 a.m. to noon, weather permitting. Residents may call Station 86 at (916) 933-6692 after 8 a.m. Saturday to confirm that the collection facility will be open.
Participation in Community Cleanup Day is free for residents of the area served by the El Dorado Hills Community Services District. Community Vision Inc. will accept donations, which will be used to renovate Deputy Jeff Mitchell Field at Bertelsen Park.
Public parking for garage sale shoppers will be accessible from the Community Park's north entrance, off St. Andrews Drive. Unsold items may be donated to Hands for Hope after the event, or recycled at the Community Cleanup Day site.
