Sacramento County health officials confirmed Monday evening that three seventh-graders at St. Mel Elementary School in Fair Oaks have tested positive for the swine flu virus.
A fourth seventh-grader, the first to show symptoms after traveling to Mexico over Easter vacation, tested negative for the virus. Results were announced in a news release issued Monday evening by Sacramento County health officials.
Sacramento Diocesan spokesman Kevin Eckery said church leaders will continue work closely with the county health department. He also announced that St. Mel will be closed the rest of the week.
