  • Hike for gun owners

Hello gun owners of Sac county,

I am planning a hike from near Bradshaw and hwy 50 all the way to the Cordova shooting range near Sunrise and Douglas blvd. Rifles, shotguns, handguns etc.
The hiking route will take us from Bradshaw road down Old Placerville road, right into the old Mather AFB which has public streets, through the back road by the Mather golf course and then finish up by going up douglas Blvd.
Once at the shooting range hikers may wish to have someone pick them up after shooting, or take the hike back with me which will follow Sunrise Blvd to Folsom Blvd, and then back to Bradshaw road to rosemont. the trip is 5.5 miles each way, however you may meet us part way if you want to park in the business district along the route. All guns must be unloaded and legal for possession in California, and all hikers must be able to possess weapons in California. All guns must be carried in a sling facing up, and never be handled in a threatening, boisterous or disturbing manner. All handguns should be in an exposed type holster. I plan on notifying the law enforcement authorities prior to the trip so they are aware of our hike, and so they can respond appropriately to concerns of people calling in.

The timing of the hike has not been decided exactly to see if anyone else wants to join and figure out a schedule, but I wish to do it in december just before Christmas

Anyone interested in joining me can contact me at

'Fraid it was only me this time. I'll have to prove it is safe several more times before anyone braves it with me.

I've got a new method too though. I'll post a picture here:

Also, here's a pic or two from another hike of sorts, where i stopped at a local business

I bet the people that saw you were totally freaked out... You should see the Liberal Californians that move here to Az.. They see someone openly carrying and they freak, grab the cell phone and call the policia LOL

Actually, I was a bit surprised about the reception I got with the shotgun. It went over ok inside. The rifle in the scabbard was another story though. Wasn't terrible, but a cop took an interest in it. turned out ok though

I can see the people freaking out on the rifle.. If only the sheeple knew shotguns can do a WHOLE LOT more damage up close then a rifle can

I know it makes my heart proud to show up at a protest with my sidearm on and see others doing the same.. And it is not the ones that openly carry there that people really have to worry about.. It is the ones carrying concealed LOL

There was a group of guys and a girl or two that strapped on sidearms and picked up trash on the side of the road here a couple weeks ago. I opted out of that one, but not for any other reason than I have been picking up far too much trash lately while cleaning out what's left of my business.
They posted some pics, but they were in a wierd format

Yeah, people do that here too.. On the border itself.. There you HAVE to be armed LOL

We should get the Sierra Club down to the border to pick up some trash.. layups and such.. Oh Wait, they have already sold out !!

They don't seem like the type of folks that want to preserve a way of life involving 2nd amendment rights, but who knows? Should I send them an invitation to the hike?

Well, you never know; It seems right up their alley in other ways. Hiking, outdoors, Not burning gas. And on a good day we'll have a view of the sierras.
