Spent many years going to college in Sacto and I have family there. I miss the fishing, camping, gold towns, wineries, Old Sacto, boating, tubing, and other such tourist events around Sacto. Any one else a sportsman or avid tourist?

Yeah, that would be me. Hunting, fishing, diving, boating, rv'ing -
My family always talked about tubing in the American River. I always saw a river as something to fish in. I don't miss the incredible heat this timje of year and have to go into the moutains for temperature relief. I liked Spring and Fall the most.DISCLAIMER:

I started inner tubing on the American river in the 60's. I continued swimming and diving in it until the mid 80's or so. The swimming, rafting, and diving in that river is much better than the fishing was generally speaking. The Sacramento river has more, bigger, and a larger variety of fish. I don't recomment it for diving in though.Comment
