At every public rally I have attended against Obamacare, there is always AT LEAST ONE protester on the pro-Obamacare team that has a poster saying, "Who would JESUS insure?"! WHAT on earth is THAT about?!

WHO Would JESUS Insure?!

I think the answer is obvious. Jesus, being vested with divine powers including knowledge of the future, would insure those who will not endure a costly illness in the near future. In view of the fiduciary duty of an insurer, there's no other logical conclusion. -
Bible students you're not
Joazinha: it's really too bad there's only one, a lack of compassion in our Lord Jesus Christ is in short supply at the rallies you are attending, just a sign of the times of the greed in the people of this land.
DerailAmnesty: the god your speaking about is not the God of the Bible,
the God of the Bible tells his followers to give their money to the needy, that it's is Far better to give than to receive.
Could it be this type of understanding of our God and Savior and the principles upon which this country were founded have been lost in the last couple of generations ?????? by those so-called conservatives of the Republican Party, they have corrupted the use of the words of the Bible and have lead alot of peoply astray from his word and the meaning of his words.Last edited by saw mill worker; 08-27-2009, 07:23 AM.Comment

>>>>>>>>>At the risk of stirring up righteous indignation<<<<<<<<<
[And being dragged bound and gagged to the nearest abandoned quarry with a ready supply of throwable rocks]
I love it.
Rather reminds me of the loaded question a few years ago of "Would Jesus drive an SUV?", as if a barefoot, itinerant carpenter Son Of God 2000 years ago with far more important things on his mind and a penchant for avoiding political entanglement would allow words to be put in his mouth.
Who would Jesus insure?
Insuring people means making loads of money for the CEO and Board of directors, and for the stock holders as well if any is left over.
So the logical question (under the circumstances, c'mon, play along) from there would be "Would Jesus be CEO in a rapacious industry in which one is a valued customer right up to the micro-second he (the customer) finished signing the contract"?
By way of association [and from the unanimous "no way would Jesus be a filthy lucre grabbing CEO!!!!!!!!!"] the further question is "Would Jesus be Health Czar in in a US Presidential administration?" [loud murmering] - which turns into the question "Would Jesus kiss up to Pharisees?" [long, collective, sucking in wind sound of astonishment].
But there will be one in every crowd - "Jesus would take from the rich and give to the poor!!!!" in which "the rich" describes everyone who is not on social assistance and giving to the poor means taxing the hell out of them, not seeing the dubious logic in a system where to live the "good life" means being on public assistance, an unsustainable state of affairs. Everyone would either be on public assistance or a poverty stricken grinding treadmill, then the cow will dry up. But everyone will be "equal". Put that on your plate and try to eat it.
I don't think Jesus would insure anyone. If he is who he is quoted to be, he would be on some heat soaked hillside co-mingling with people who, like himself, need a bath and maybe some mouthwash, multiplying loaves of coarse bread laden with stone grindings and multiplying unrefrigerated fish carcasses, turning water into wine, healing the lame, curing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, giving hope to the hopeless, forgiving harlots who go forth and sin no more.
And he would deflect anyone who would put words in his mouth with retorts like "Render to Ceaser which is Ceaser's, and to God which is God's".Last edited by ilbegone; 08-27-2009, 12:52 PM.Comment

This is an example of the liberal's use of Jesus to fit their agenda (and something that conservatives do also). The answer is simple. Jesus would probably not insure anyone, as Jesus was a carpenter, and insurance was not a concept that came into existence until 1689 with Lloyd's of London. Ultimately, it is the logical fallacy of argument from silence.Comment
