Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a US soldier killed in Iraq, turns her back on the effort she started to encourage an end to the war.
Sheehan created quite the controversy over the past few years due to her outspoken lobbying in the name of her dead soldier son to stop the Iraq war. She went as far as to buy a five acre parcel of land near the Bush compound in Crawford where she could maintain a presence to protest.
In a sudden about face, Sheehan abandons her effort apparently due to her dissillusionment with the democrats for recently caving in to Bush's wartime budget demands without troop withdrawal timetables attached.
Personally, I do not see why she would be surprised by the democrats behavior. After all, the republicans alone could not have brought the war this far. So she sees a sellout and she quits? Did she really think the democrats were her friends?
I understand she is selling the 5 acres. I wonder if there are any Saudi buyers in the market down there?
