    8 Neo-Nazis met by 200 counterprotesters

Eight Neo-Nazis rallying against illegal immigration Saturday in Riverside fled in the face of 200 counterprotesters who snatched and tore up swastika-covered flags and chanted "Nazis go home."

Scheduled to last two hours, the protest ended after 45 minutes when police officers, who wore riot gear but made no arrests, advised the Neo-Nazi's to leave. Counterprotesters spit on the Neo-Nazi's Suzuki and Hyundai cars as they drove away.

"Its nice that so many people came out to basically say that we don't tolerate racism in Riverside County," said Emilio Amaya, a counterprotester and executive director of the San Bernardino Community Service Center, which provides legal services to immigrants.

Mike O'Dell, a member of the National Socialist Movement, which organized the rally, said in a phone interview afterward that he was pleased the group got its message out. He said the counterprotesters didn't disrupt the rally.

"Apparently the Riverside Police Department guaranteed there would be enough security for this event," said O'Dell, 42, of San Francisco, who wore black pants, black boots and a black National Socialist Movement T-shirt during the protest. "As it turned out, they didn't have enough security."

Riverside police Lt. Larry Gonzalez said the department provided plenty of protection. He denied that police asked the Neo-Nazis to leave and said that they left on their own.

"I thought we did a perfectly fine job of protecting them," Gonzalez said. "It could have been way worse. It was just a bunch of groups against the NSM."

Jeff Hall, a Riverside resident and state director of National Socialist Movement, which the Anti-Defamation League identifies as the nation's largest Neo-Nazi organization, never reached the rally because his car broke down, he said in a phone interview. He said he was proud of members that attended.

"Our guys stood strong," Hall said. "They were being attacked viciously and repeatedly. The police obviously weren't prepared."

The rally, which involved a lot of yelling between the groups and several physical altercations, took place in front of a Farmer Boys restaurant on Madison Avenue.

The restaurant is adjacent to a Home Depot, where day laborers gather.

The protest caused members of Arlington High School dance team to leave their car wash fundraiser at Farmer Boys.

A second counterprotest, attended by about 200 people, was held Saturday morning at Riverside City hall, said Kevin Akin, an organizer and the Riverside County and state chairman of the Peace and Freedom Party. Thirty-two community organizations sponsored the event, he said.

Sergio Ramos, a 22-year-old Riverside City College student, attended both counterprotests with eight fellow members of the Student Alliance For Education, a group that supports undocumented students. He was pleased with the results.

"I just think they got what they deserved because they don't deserve to be here," Ramos said.

      They have mine too.

The proudest moment I had in that organization which shall remain nameless, was at the protest of the Liliana sanctuary church in Simi Valley. Old Preach and a number of men demanded that a group of neo-Nazi skinheads not join our protest.

I would love to counter-protest those Nazi b******s!

On the other hand, there was also the time after the message was put out that they weren't welcome at events by that nameless organization, and at the end of an event some people who had never participated before and were not known put on Swastika armbands and brought out a Nazi flag.

Were they Nazi A-holes giving an eye poke or were they opposition plants for a propaganda photo op?

Naui actually captured very entertaining video footage of the event. I'm glad Naui finally found some REAL racists.

I don't know what to say about this. 30 of us get on a street corner and the media is nowhere in sight. 8 minor factionalists get on the streets and it's a big deal.

But the thirty are judged on the eight.

Well, they are tainted by the eight in the very least.

                    But here is the deal.

Naui is just as racist or more than those skin heads. But here is what makes the difference:

Naui is experienced in being confident in expression of his racism, those self described Nazi skin head yokels aren't. So, Naui eats them for lunch in his video. Did more to them in five minutes in that video than the other 199 did in 45 minutes.

The further problem is that "conventional wisdom" opines that the mass of people who object to illegal migration are either racists or ashamed of their ancestry. And both are judged by the rantings of genuine white racists like those eight who showed up in Riverside.

Fucking assholes that they are, the rest of us are judged by them.

Sort of, but not entirely. While it might further taint the white opposition to illegal immigration, there have been many other races/ethnicities coming out publicly against it too. We have to find a better strategy to deal with sideshows like these. My proposal before was to denounce them as gang members, (wearing gang related attire, sporting gangland tattoos) and we don't promote gang activity. In addition, we never promote the waving of foriegn flags on US soil (nazi flag or other similar flags that identify as foreign in present or history)

I'm not really sure how to bring out my jumble of thoughts right now, I'm probably going to ramble a little bit...

Ok, if they got the clothes, got the tats, got the shaved head, flags, fliers suggesting the holocaust didn't happen, misc. paraphernalia and gear, they're out.

Plus an eye to be kept out for surprises.

I googled Roy Warden today, haven't heard of him before yesterday. I split a gut reading the SPLC description of his antics, most of the rest I read of him elsewhere was almost as funny.

Roy's got a nutball way of putting his message across, but what I interpret of his reasoning doesn't seem to be too far off the mark. I think Roy is harmless so long as no one violates his "perimeter". Let him rant about the Mexican government and burn Mexican flags while praising Zapata and such.

But then I saw the the name Laine Lawless who had torched some flags with Warden. So I looked up Laine Lawless. What a piece of work. Of course, I looked at her tentacle spread, and I have to wonder, just how much of that stuff is true concerning the people she hung out with besides Forde? I don't really need an answer on that here, but it just boggles my mind.

I've been over to David Duke's "White civil right's" site a couple of times to see what they had to dispense. I laughed at some of it, but came away feeling like I needed a bath.

There's been some other white supremacist sites I've been to out of curiosity - several bunches of mentally dwarfed knuckle draggers.

Of course I've checked out the brown supremacist sites and I've bought their books to study where they come from. They are the same people as white supremacists, just wrapped in a different skin tone working the other side of the street. It's basically all the same stuff. Except brown racists don't claim to be on my side.

Immigration law needs to be enforced, illegal aliens need to be deported, and employers need a long overdue reckoning for their deeds. But, something I'm not so sure of as I was a year or so ago.

                        Just who is who?

There's no black and white, and that's why there's exploitation. I don't know that any brown racists have ever declared themselves on my side any more than the white ones have. The only difference I see in the most recent film featured here is that one side is still either using or clinging to the US flag, and the other totally rejects it. So at present, my mindset is to try and educate the one's who still exhibit a ray of hope in regards to the manner in which they support their community, state, and country,...but the one's flying the foriegn flags only; and making claims on the US and California in the name of that flag are pretty much written off. Now just to clarify; I don't support any racial separatism, and certainly no racial superiority. I'm just saying that I'd approach them and tell them that if they are truly interested in their state, community, and country that they need to drop the racial act and join their fellow Americans who would be more likely to come to their defense. But if they stubbornly cling to that foriegn nazi flag and their childish cult, they're just gonna be 8 gang bangers getting their butts kicked by 40 other gang members.

Because the 30 of us on a street corner are standing there without swastikas and are not performing the Nazi salute.

Secondly, the media want violence. Preferably, performed by us on them. We don't give them this, and they don't cover us. Case in point, a couple of years ago, the organization that shall remain nameless organized a rally across from the CNN building in support of Lou Dobbs. We had a a good turnout, but no media coverage, not even from CNN. Why? We became irrelevant.

Yes. We were forced into a set of parameters that would doom us to irrelevance
